Mostly making this thread cus drake really doesn’t get enough credit for this particular style of music he does. i like alternative styles of pop and I’ve always found this type of music dope. Plus i listen to a lot of afrobeats so I can appreciate it even more. I’ll start
Controlla
Fountains
Blem
One Dance
Find your love
Controlla
One Dance
Passionfruit
Blem
Madiba Riddim
Signs
gotta listen to Fountains some more, and Mention Me might make it to my top 3 tbh
Also if yall want a more potent version of this type of music i highly recommend afrobeats artists like Rema, Cruel Santino fka Santi, omah lay
A cool thing happened in the scene from 2013-present where a kind of symbiotic feedback loop happened where u had these gen z nigerian artists who grew up listening to hip hop including drake so that influenced the type of afrobeats music they made, only for drake to become influenced by it himself
Controlla
One Dance
Passionfruit

Fountains so dope to me rn
Layered beautifully
idk man this lightskin dancehall really aged bad for me. I really dislike Controlla, Blem, and sorta One Dance (production is amazing).
I like Work tho
And I really enjoy Passionfruit!
Passion fruit
His iterations of dancehall sound funny to me.
But it's cause listen to so much dancehall
The other songs aged bad. I only really like find your love
Find your love is also one of my favorites

Understandable
I don’t listen to dancehall but afrobeats and a lot of nigerian artists mix hip hop, rnb, reggae the exact same way drake does just w more west african influence so for me It’s only made me appreciate these kinda songs from drake
