I’d agree, Lifestylez sounds very dated compared to it. I definitely think L could’ve made an album on par with it if Columbia ain’t f*** with development and marketing tho

Columbia didnt know what to do with him and didn't give him much budget for the album(which also meant he didnt get much time to be in the studio). A lot of lifestylez was recorded from 92-93 and they kept pushing the album back until it came out in '95. I believe the songs that were recorded later for the album was Put it on, MVP, and Street Struck.

If it was the same beats that would have been an ablum way ahead of its time in content (outside of a few South and West artists) and especially the instrumentation in the early 1990s that rivals the raw of Cube's AMW and Dre's Chronic
He was also gonna sign to jay after his second album too they were already in talks and became cool - i wonder how it might have reshaped Cam's and Mase's path if it happened and their Children of the Corn group
