pop and electronic been amazing tho
indie has been decent
rap is good if you enjoy griselda or some more indie releases (its been ok)
yeah bruh I really become less and less a hiphop listener every year that go by its crazy
these other genres really carrying music
An eventful and memorable year, yea
Music seemed to be more enjoyable last year too.
For me personally the lil nas ep is trash old town road was aight but that doesn’t remotely make the year good
The box really was this year that it blew up and even that is whatever we’ve had multiple albums better than that from young artists this year already
Bandana was fine but that’s one project
I think you’re focusing too much on eventization and no s*** there hasn’t been much eventization in an election year, pandemic year, Kobe death year, etc
No one gives a f*** about rap drama when people out here trying to survive a pandemic b
Musically it’s been much better than 2019
I'd take Bandana over any rap project that's dropped this year but overall 2020 has a deeper bench

It’s crazy that we’ve had a f***ing global pandemic for most of this year and I’ll still argue that this year was better and more memorable for rap than 2019
King's Disease and Miles saved this year for me tbh
DONDA should've dropped tho
We have four more months b

there are about 4 actually good albums in this list
there are about 4 actually good albums in this list
A bunch are eh but there’s a good catalogue there
Especially compared to 2019 and considering that’s only 2/3 into the year
Off the top of my head,
Heaven or hell
Meet the woo 2
Kings disease
?
eternal atake
what albums
meet the woo 2
my turn
heaven or hell
starz was alright, had like 4-5 duds on it though
other albums i would consider genuinely good are wunna and anyways (nudy)
s*** you listed like dark lane, eternal atake, the goat, durk album - it doesn't get much more average or unremarkable than these

Old town road was cool when it first started blowing up. Eventization is what makes years memorable though. I like that term lol.
That’s what I’m getting at, sure the music output is still solid albeit it’s more so confined to smaller artists. I think a lack of major mainstream releases has made an impact. Like There hasn’t been that hip hop album or moment that makes you go goddamn this s*** is nice and has everybody chatting about it for weeks.
Like we still have a decent chance of getting
Kanye album
Cardi album
Drake album
Kendrick album
Probably some other s*** too

I don't buy into the mainstream hype of mentioning Cardi among the greats lmao

2019 was similar, had some good albums like ignorance is bliss, long live mexico, bandana but nothing i would consider genuinely GREAT or 'classic' if you will
aside from these, a whole bunch of albums, like this year, i would never care if i listened to them again

I think After Hours was a moment
Same with My Turn and Eternal Atake
Plus we still have some potential high profile releases otw
