reading comments and tbh its been mostly the same since the latter half of the 10s. underground hasn't missed a step and its more or less widely accepted that we're in the golden era of it. acts transcending into the mainstream and vice versa is great too (earl went full underground, griselda went mainstream)
popular rap is spotty and its more or less same heavy hitters with a bunch of new talent coming around. I think newcomers are sticking around for longer and gimmick marketing is way less effective that it used to be. so yea there's a lot of changes in the mainstream rap while underground keeps at it and does just fine
I’m listening to less and less of it, but EST Gee, 42 Dugg, Rylo Rodriguez, Money Man, and Kevin Gates keep me interested.
Same trap s***. Waiting for Drake like always and hopefully, Jay-Z.
Is there reason to believe jay is dropping soon or are you just hoping?

Just hoping. He hasn't dropped in a while.
Rap music been mid all year
Not at all. It ain't the best but there's been plenty of good projects throughout the year.
Nas was right, hip hop really did die
DJ Shadow and De La Soul also felt hip hop "died" in 1996.
People are always going to have their preferences for hip hop.
waiting on da baby drop to figure out how I feel
I guess he did get dropped everywhere. F*** that homophobe

I f*** wit da baby. He speaks for tough and hygienic straight men.
Underground rap is in a golden era, trend rap is in shambles. The perfect iceberg that keeps the genre afloat tbh
Oh s***, it's 2022
