always loved that lucy pearl battlecat remix 😎

@YoungNastyShawty get him and ask him about this. Eric you gotta get the first interview when the reissue is released. only a few more months

he wants to do 4 releases a year? & then he goes into vault releases from past 30 years?!?!? where do i sign my soul away for a mailing box every season?

Saadiq has entrepreneur money, he really is about to show people how it’s done in R&B Soul world. Prepare to be humbled with the Saadiq vault if you produce or write music and don’t know his catalog. 😳

    press article -

“Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Raphael Saadiq has launched a vinyl club.

The Raphael Saadiq Vinyl Club will give fans access to his decade-spanning catalog. According to press materials, “This exclusive membership allows fans to receive exclusive quarterly releases of Saadiq’s most celebrated albums.”

Up first is a vinyl reissue of Saadiq’s group Lucy Pearl’s self-titled lone album. The 2LP 180g vinyl, available in an opaque white pressing, will include the never-before-released track “Gonna Miss U.”

“The very thing that got me started was vinyl. The vinyl club is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. This first vinyl is very important for me to release. I call it Lucy Pearl 2.0,” says Saadiq.

The reissue of Lucy Pearl aligns with the album’s milestone 25th anniversary in May. The trio consisting of Saadiq, Dawn Robinson, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, released their first and only album on May 23, 2000.

The album included their Grammy-nominated hit “Dance Tonight,” which received a nod for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal at the 43rd Grammy Awards. The smooth groove was a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lucy Pearl, which also included “Don’t Mess With My Man,” was certified gold by the RIAA in August 2000 for selling over 500,000 copies.

This summer, Saadiq will reissue his second solo album, Ray Ray, on vinyl. The album was originally released in 2004 via his independent label Pookie Entertainment. It featured collaborations with both of his groups Tony! Toni! Toné! and Lucy Pearl, plus Babyface, Teedra Moses, and more.

Raphael Saadiq Vinyl Club members will automatically receive all four vinyl releases throughout the year — and that’s not all.

“When you join the club you get merch, maybe a song, a download in the middle of the night,” says Saadiq. “Maybe I’ll drop something directly to you, access to private shows. We’re gonna be adding things to it all the time. It’s going to be new music, I’m not just gonna hold stuff in the studio. I’m gonna put stuff that I have in the vault.”

He co-wrote and co-produced multiple tracks, including the No. 1 hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “16 Carriages,” “Ameriican Requiem” and “Bodyguard.” Before that, he teamed with BeyoncĂ© to create the Grammy-winning “Cuff It” from her 2022 album, Renaissance.

In other news, Saadiq previously confirmed that Tony! Toni! TonĂ©! is working on new music. In 2023, he told Vulture, “We definitely gonna do an album after this tour. We’re working on it as we speak, in all these rooms.”

Membership is now open for the Raphael Saadiq Vinyl Club at raphaelsaadiqvinylclub.com.

  • Aquilla

i think because of master recordings. He signed a deal with that label. This was before Pookie records

You notice one thing, he doesn’t mention Dawn Robinson at all for Lucy reissue. How are you going to reissue the lp without Dawn’s vocals? you can’t because that’s a big reason why people love the project. Even the album cover is, you gotta include ali shaheed and dawn on it

This is kinda unusual. But with Dawn it’s up front and a vocal presence. En vogue fans bought that project as well not just Saadiq fans. I wonder why Raphael doesn’t even say it was a collab project in the ad. You gotta mention the other 2 members. Who is RS manager? You would think it’s just him 😒

I'm just here for Lucy Pearl on vinyl for now

it is 300$ a year but it includes a bundle of all 4 records with merch annually and it’s handwritten tracklisting

Even if all you want is Lucy Pearl, i promise you the vinyl is going to sky rocket for collectors who miss it

Soooo i wouldn’t trip on the value and because it’s handwritten tracklisting & signed

3 of those records you don’t want , you will be straight plus you don’t open the others? it’s a wrap on any selling platform, fam. You talking a world market for 300 copies A lot of dj’s will join the club just to get copies for their collection

Man I just copped Lucy Pearl for $80

Man I just copped Lucy Pearl for $80

well here’s what i’ll say to that

go into the club & then you sell the other three to audience who just want one vinyl signed sealed

if you really want to be gangsta you selll your lucy pearl vintage together with the other three in 2026 “3 signed Raphael Solo lp’s plus Lucy pearl group project lp “ Dj’s will fomo like crazy

if you don’t want to spend 300 at once , just use shop pay and pay a installment by the time you are done paying that , (i sound like a merchant but i don’t have a affiliate code, i saw it on the saadiq site ) you are gucci.

on another note , i have a Dr octagon reunion lp glitch pressing from a while back. Unopened i’m not selling that until i’m dead. going to buy a gold & emerald sapphire coffin & surf in the afterlife in style đŸ„â€â™‚ïž ⚰ 😎
