I think Uzi and Carti kinda figured this out in a way cause their albums aren’t mastered and mixed to perfection by any means but,it makes no sense to spend big money on beats in 2020. If rappers kept their ears to the streets or maybe had a team focused on finding unknown producers, most of the time, they’d find guys/girls producing s*** as fire as Metro or any other producer that’s hot now.

All that bread spent on beats could go to skilled mixers and engineers to make songs and albums sound complete. Mixing and mastering really a lost art in rap and this should be a golden age for it cause there are no real super producers where they make beats on totally higher level than the next man. Wayne started doing this exact concept on C4 when he used the same beat 3 times and a few unknown producers for the album.

Whether you do it to save money or you want your album to sound as good as possible, stop overpaying for beats fellow rappers, the s*** ain’t worth it nowadays.

Still a way to save money as a rapper,it makes no sense to spend good money on producers these days cause every beat is going for the same result.

Yea. I remember him saying how long it took to mix Wesley’s theory. He had that album sounding crispy.

I wish he could do some Kanye albums.

That’s what I’m kinda saying, instead of guys taking the time to find these innovative beats for the cheap(while also putting someone on)they rather blow the budget on some basic s***.

You use carti to justify this argument is hilarious

how much of Carti success is really down to Pi'erre Bourne?

Frankly we most likey have no idea who Carti was if it wasnt for beats he's gotten

For some of these artists, working with certain producers is a part of the marketing/promotion esp if it’s a big name producer. For example, that Nudy song ab to drop with Metro, most of the hype is bc Metro is involved

Tbh idk what they should do

  • Oct 28, 2020

Mixing can make or break a song, but if the mixing isn’t terrible and it’s just good enough, most people don’t give a f***. The only ppl that really nitpick ab mixing are listeners who make music and Ktt niggas

But other than Pi’erre, most of Carti’s producers are unknown. I should’ve used 2010’s Wayne as more of an example tbh tho lol.

Sometimes as an up and comer, you do need that push from a producer for a single or something but your album don’t need all that.

Tbh, mixing helps a lot more than people give credit for, when ur s*** is pristine it helps a lot, some of these beats that people paying a lot for arent even all that fr

But an amazing beat is way better than amazing mixing
