Ironically a lot of it comes from the "I'm not a rapper I'm an artist" dumbass crowd of rappers but they still only listen to Rap

Lot of Rap fans usually "only" listen to Rap and RnB, but it's (or was) the opposite with most Rappers who listened to so much s***, some of them actually didn't even listen to Rap itself that much outside of their own scene or area

Even a lot of gangster Rappers and "ringtone" era Rappers did and how they got their melodies and production influence

Now there are Rappers and sub genres of course still like this, but it's a major lost aspect specifically for mainstream and mainstream wannabe Rappers since the middlish 2010s to now

These Rappers end up not recognizing samples and sounds n harder times finding pockets n ideas and ish thus they pass on them leading to sampling becoming more rare in mainstream outside of sampling radio pop records that are so on the nose and recent
