ehh could care less about what some random stranger on the internet thinks about my music consumption
it’s ok if you don’t like what you’re hearing today dude just means you’ve maxed out your expressive bandwidth rap has to offer

? i love new music that’s literally all i post in this sxn and im old af lol (i listen to old stuff too but i only post about new music on ktt)
Slums Collective & Affiliates
I've checked that stuff out a lot and respect it but it never sticks. I really liked IDLSIDGO/Solace era Earl. Now I like the songs he's on that don't sound like MIKE.
Mach Hommy
Little Simz
i rather just listen to old rap if i’m in the mood for that typa rapping ngl

more power 2 u broski i ain’t mean any offence, feel like what you described was fatigue/burnout than anything
I liked mobb deep but felt like I didnt understand the hype fully
Got high as hell and listened to murda muzik and prodigy shot up to being like a top 3 rapper for me ever lol i listen to them every day now
SRS era earl and after which feels weird cos i like mike and nem
I feel like I should like those dudes, but i'm just not a fan of none of those niggas.
what makes you think you “should” like them?
seems like you dislike most of the big names in their subgenre of rap lol
I should be more into Earl & Saba than I am but I do like them but also wouldn’t pay to go to a solo show of theirs

i see it tbh
he prefers melodic but still rapping at its core
the artists he listed (aside from 21) are more melodic usually
NBA. I’ve tried and tried..
I think if you’ve never failed a high school course he’s hard to get into.
lil bibby - grew up enjoying loosies n welcome to fazoland but he never stuck w me for some reason
open mike eagle - i like r.a.p ferreira n the whole ruby yacht art rap s*** but there jus hasnt been a song, album or buzz thats pulled me to him
goonew - ironically really enjoy how shawny binladen's sound is inspired by him and the whole dmv trap movement years back (xanman, moneymarr, lil dude, lil xelly, etc) yet his music never reached me outside a song or two
tony shhnow - his collabs be fire but i peeped reflexions and nothing stayed w me outside of the zelooperz feature
J Cole for sure. On paper, I love introspective rap and all the folks that are his influences are amongst my favorites. But his perspective, although admirable, has never resonated with me.
Meek Mill too. I love aspirational and chip on the shoulder get to it raps, but in the words of Phil Leotardo, “my estimation of meek mill as a man f***ing plummeted,” once I visited his Twitter.
There are no rules to life or hip hop. You can do what you want and rate J Cole as highly as you want.
Yeah you can do whatever but it doesn’t stop the actual fact I’m making.
Denzel Curry, he had me with N64 but I never felt the same after. Paris, Texas too
I can’t rock with anything that came after 32 Zel, but N64 is the absolute peak.
N64 and Denny Cascade goin up on SoundCloud right before the tape dropped made me a fan. Hasn’t been the same since.
