The truthful answer is that Drake has an amazing voice and Thug has a really unique delivery and inflection.

When artists are influenced by Thug, it's obvious because it's a style that he so distinctly fathered. When artists are influenced by Drake, they won't be able to replicate his main appeal because they won't sound as similar.

I asked this same exact question and @Durkio_World answered pretty perfectly: it makes sense that these young street rappers would imitate street rappers like Thug and Future, it would be weird if they imitated Drake's voice
