  • Recently with Travis Scott coming out as schizophrenic with his song SKITZO, I have noticed a trend of rappers doing the "mental illness". Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and XXXTENTACION also came out as schizophrenics. Is this just a trend and fad where they play the role or is there more to this?

This is in no way related to substance abuse.

There is plenty of research supporting the idea that marijuana abuse is linked to the development of several psychiatric illnesses including schizophrenia.

I didn't even realize that's what he did on that song lmao

Edit: Just listened to the song. I work closely with real schizophrenics. And to be honest, I'm not buying it. The difference could literally be rich and poor but actual schizophrenics do more than stay up late.

do you think XXXTENTACION was schizophrenic? tbh I think he probably suffered from several mental illnesses so is pretty hard to pin down. just asking for your opinion on his behavior & mindset in general
