I noticed NLE doing more and more content s***. He even on twitch streaming and has a dedicated clips channel where he plugs his streams.

The reason is clear to have a higher engagement that trickles down to anything else they do especially the music.

I love that Soulja and Almighty Jay be streaming. KAT and Kyrie are great examples on the sports side too.

Can that make an artis look gimmicky tho?
Is that a new career arc that labels will push artists too?

People should be trying to diversify as much as they can to secure long term earnings. Smart pivots

At the end of the day they gotta make money and the music ain’t cutting it

  • May 18, 2022

it won't look gimmicky as long as the content is good but yea this is something we will see from more and more rappers and artists in general

because streaming money doesn't hit like that especially if ur signed to a label. and for some artists, it's harder to tour (either they can't sell tickets or alternatively they just hate touring or it's hard for them to put themselves thru the grueling tour life)

yes and no, def a pretty big overlap in the venn diagram but u can also make really good music that just doesn't generate that much revenue

and also u can be a pretty good natural content creator (funny, good at interviewing, whatever) and why not make that a part of ur brand too

hell of a lot better than bad social media clout chase-y antics. this is a way better timeline
