I made threads about exactly this before and people tried to banish me to the shadow realm

and i don't get why either, he's not the type of artist to have a cult fanbase but still people really talk about him like he's the goat of this gen

Me and my boy had this conversation, and I think he nailed it.

He said that Lil Baby’s output is higher than pretty much anybody else right now, and so that’s why he’s getting the attention.

Quantity will NEVER equate to quality, but I think that’s the only thing it comes down to.

He keeps feeding people, so people start associating that wit “GOAT status”, whether or not the actual music actually lives up to that.

I don't understand the appeal of the Drain Gang members as vocalists. Whitearmor and Gud are brilliant producers, but I never get anything out of Bladee or Ecco2K on their own projects.

every project i've heard him collab on, he was derivative and didn't add anything memorable. wunn was extremely one note and boring as hell.

migos aside from some singles tho i can admit they helped lead trap into it's current place in mainstream music

basically this. the only drain gang artist i've continuously enjoyed was thaiboy and whitearmor is consistently good. i wonder how much of drain gang is built up around it's culty appeal and not the talent of it's members lol
