He was possibly the greatest Italian director of all time one of the greatest directors ever in general.

Ranking from best to least favorite

The Good The Bad and the Ugly. In my top 10 favorites movies of all time. I could go on and on about how great this movies is.

Once Upon A Time In The West. The cinematography is beautiful. Frank is one of the most disgusting villains in the western genre and Henry Fonda played him perfectly.

For A Few Dollars More. Just about as intense as the two above. Not as memorable characters but still an incredible film.

A Fistfull Of Dollars. Definitely launched the career of Clint Eastwood. I feel Sergio was finding his footing here.

Once Upon A Time In America. It’s good. His weakest from what I have seen. It’s way too long and it feels it’s almost four hours which is a shame because Sergio is one of those directors that make a three movie go by so quick. Some really forgettable scenes but the direction is good. Beautiful cinematography

Once Upon A Time In America was one film that I felt needed to be long and feel long because the entire concept of “passage of time” was so essential in the overall theme
