It's more that Kim has always claimed she was a victim and in the process demonised Ray J. There's nothing progressive about that, she didn't need to do it as you say, but the victim angle made her look better. She wanted it both ways. The promo of the tape but to avoid as much of the stigma as possible.

A Mad Ass NiggaI don’t even care for Kim and her family but mfs be coming for them unprovoked all the time. Like mfs really made hating that family a personality trait. You ask a mf why they hate them and the first thing they say is “they’re rich for being untalented” but it’s time for mfs to say with their chest that they hate the fact they laid the blueprint on how to get paid. Mfs preach building generational wealth is key but then get mad at this family for doing it. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just a stunt, cause why say this damn near 20 years after the fact?
