Thought this would be a good way to share some smaller r&b artists that I really love with the rest of KTT that appreciates r&b.
Week 1: Kyle Dion
Kyle Dion is an LA Based artist who has been slowly creating his own funk/r&b lane since his release of “Better” in 2013. He dropped his debut album, “SUGA”, in 2019 and has been gaining a good amount of traction since. Arguably my personal favorite artist.
Week 2: Marco McKinnis
McKinnis is a relatively unknown name in mainstream r&b but has continued to see growing exposure since his 2016 rise on soundcloud. Since, he has dropped two EPs on major streaming platforms, "Underground" and "E'Merse". McKinnis' sultry vocals simultaneously are reminiscent of the past yet ahead of their time, catering to the soulful and heartbroken.
Week 3: Arin Ray
Arin Ray is a pop/r&b singer out of Cincinnati, Ohio. He first gained exposure on X-Factor and since has rapidly progressed toward mainstream popularity through fun, upbeat, yet sultry songs and a few features from the likes of Kehlani, Ty Dolla, and more. His debut in 2018, titled Platinum Fire, shows how seamlessly he transitions from from fun pop to dark r&b cuts.
Week 4: Kwabs
Kwabena Sarkodee Adjepong is a London-based artist who earned a come-up off of Youtube covers, gaining a contract with Atlantic Records in 3 short years. His combination of Neo-soul and traditional R&B, coupled with his wonderfully deep and powerful voice, make his music as beautiful and memorable as it is moving. Unfortunately his releases have been sporadic. his latest release was his album "Love + War" in 2015. "Last Stand" is one of the greatest works of art I have ever heard and I hope you all enjoy.
Week 5: Jacob Banks
Nigeria born, English raised singer Jacob Banks is one of the most memorable voices in the history of Soul. His genre bending, African-inspired albums blend components of soul, electronic, and pop to create songs that are as much a pleasure to the ears as they are to the heart. In addition, his pen game is (in my opinion) unmatched by all of his contemporaries and will result in his music being special to generation after generation.
Week 6: Colette Lush
Bout to put you all on because this is my hidden gem of an artist. Colette competed on American Idol in 2016 but that’s far from the highlight of her career. She only has one album released right now but is in the middle of a new rollout, recently dropping her single “Broke”. Her vocals are intricate and smooth, yet not boastful. Every song she has released hits and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
Week 7: Aaron Childs
Shoutout to my ex for putting me onto this one. I feel like I set too high of a bar vocally with the first artists I included in this thread so this guy may seem a bit underwhelming at first. He hardly has any music out but his EP “My Way” is smooth as hell. Hope he drops a full project soon so we can get a better scope of what he’s capable of.
Cool side of the pillow is some smooth s***
Check “Cherry Blossom” brother

Good question. I’ve been following him for as long as I can remember and I never saw a mention of physicals. I think his next release will likely have them since there will be more demand now that he’s finally being recognized
