Rich Mirages is Chicago Freestyle lite even interpolates it but it's a decent track, probably should've been a third single before the album dropped imo
one of the main things holding him back is his voice. it doesnt have much character to it
The singles were mid should've put this on there instead
Also don't like FTN but rest of the album is good

Yeah FTN was just not good
I didn't really like that I Don't Trust You track either

Yeah it's one of the weakest songs but I don't hate it
Good album, exceeded expectations for me
BUT, if he wants to grow like he talked about on these interviews, TDE need to invest a bigger budget on the next record because as good as this album is it's probably not gonna cut through in today's market

His biggest issue is making good singles, deep album cuts are usually good but when he tries to make commercial appealing songs they're f***ing basura, my biggest issue with him before this album were his hooks, he got some better hooks here on deep cuts but then you have the singles that are just terrible, he needs to put Zacari or someone on all the hooks on his singles because he's just not good at this s***
FTN could've been a good song for women but s*** is not executed well, maybe another rapper would've made it good and his voice isn't suited for that type of s*** idk

The problem with Reason is that he has J.Cole syndrome
He can rap very good but has no other redeeming qualities about him as an artist
The track list lowkey makes me not want to listen lol
This is what I'm sayin man TDE shoulda spent the bag on a couple of notable features coz people won't check for this otherwise

Definitely had some better hooks on this joint. Send You 2 The Afterlife probably his best hook yet and the Too Much hook was cool too
But definitely could use some features on hooks. Idk why they didn't get a Blxst feature or something on this album coz him and Reason could make a dope track together

i see where you’re coming from, for me as a TDE fan i think one of the biggest issues they’ve had post-black panther is thinking that to have a successful single, it has to be constructed like a what the industry currently would deem as a “hit”.
when you think of early 2010s TDE (which some would describe as their peak), kendrick’s single was hiiipower. ab-soul single was terrost threats. jay rock had hood gone love it.
all these songs are catchy and function well as a single but more importantly they actually let you know the true sound of the artists project and lyrically you get to hear their perspective and ideology, which is the best way to connect with people.
do better was a great single for ab-soul for that exact purpose. i’m not sure why so many of these jay rock and reason singles are targeting what they’re targeting, cause neither hardcore fans or casual music listeners want to hear these type of songs from these guys specifically. respectfully i feel like the label is making some weird decisions and i don’t see it being fruitful for them

You spittin
there’s a whole community of fans who eat up lyrical introspective rap over soulful beats.
we gonna ignore them and let the first impression of the album be a twerking song???
I'm looking forward to the album. I think the Reason hate is a bit weird. If you don't like his music that's cool but to look at a trackless and say I'm not listening is weird as hell imo. His first album was enjoyable.

agree with you on ftn but im f***ing with i dont trust you
solid album after first spin. agree with what most saying about the few single type tracks not working but some heaters on here. coulda used more real rapper features but seems like that was his intent
This album was ehh, reason just doesn't connect for him, and I think it has to do with his vocals. Like he can clearly rap and the beats on here aren't bad but damn this was kinda tough to listen through.
Dope on first listen. Will definitely listen again. “Call Me” is great and I actually like “FTN”. I still like the singles he put out but “Bussin” could be a single.
He just feels like a great value tde artist
Like they took the most boring qualities of everyone on tde and fused them into one guy
