I need a new mecha series. Preferably one that doesn't involve anything mystical or magical (like New Types😒😒)

    I've seen:

    Most Gundam series
    Evangelion
Immortal Grand Prix (the old toonami mini series)
    Zoids
    Knights of sidonia

Haven't seen Eureka 7 like that

Gurren Lagann (my all time favorite)
    Eureka Seven

Also I hear Fullmetal Panic is great but I haven’t seen it yet

Cant tell u if it sucks or not and probably not what yall would consider authentic anime lol but Netflix got a new Pacific Rim animated series

Gurren Lagann is a super mecha, if you don’t like New Types, can’t imagine you liking TTGL

This doesn’t really count as a Mecha per say, but LOTGH - Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It’s got a remake that came out a year or 2 ago, I think it’s still on going. It’s a good remake so far imo. You can watch the original too since it’s complete and still holds up today.

Youjo Senki is an isekai, and not a mecha but I’d classify it as sci-fi/fantasy. It deals with a lot of similar themes that Gundam animes cover. It’s worth a watch as a mecha fan imo

    MSG: Thunderbolt - December Sky
    MSG: Thunderbolt - Bandit Flower

Both a must watch if you ain’t seen em.

Everything on Retrocrush's Mecha section is gold status.

But here's what I'll throw out:

Gurren Lagann - This is a masterclass anime that plays off classics and makes something new with it. An over the top loveletter to mecha anime that can help you get into other mecha anime.

Eureka 7 - Love story + Mecha, done f***ing well.

Giant Robo: THE END OF THE WORLD - A mixture of one Mangaka's multiple works into one universe using his "GIANT ROBO" series as a base. Kid piloting giant robot vs evil organization is where we start, everywhere else is where we go.

New Getter Robo - 3 Criminals have to pilot mecha and work together, while using over the top brutal martial arts, to save the world. Classic s*** y'know what I'm saying?

BIG O - If you liked the Batman animated series, it's that with a kickass robot. If I need to say more to sell you on it, I feel like you need to seek help.

I went in here to recommend this but forgot to my list. I prefer the movies if I'm being honest, but you can't lose.

If you dig that, Dai-Guard is the move after for a similar series.

Yeah I loved Big O as a kid. Great s***. Bruce Wayne as a mech pilot

    I'll peep the others
