    To me, this and Hell: The Sequel are at this weird apex in his career.

    On one hand, you see the beginning of the worst parts of his 2010s career: overreliance on pop singers, awkward punchlines, lots of battle rapping for the sake of battling, but there is a sincerity to the projects.

    I genuinely see Recovery as the last project Em really had something to say, at least when it comes to the theme of overcoming addiction. It had consistently good hooks for the most part, Em stayed on beat, and the rhyme schemes weren't overly technical to point where he was choppy.
