Was RDO even good? I remember at launch it was pretty barebones.

they didn't even try to make it good

Did people at the time complain about it being ‘too woke?’

Playing the game rn and I forgot how progressive Arthur and everyone in his camp are

I love how Arthur supports women voting, how you get good karma for killing the KKK, how Arthur tells the eugenics guy in saint danis that he knows good people of all races etc

I can see certain sects of crybaby bigot gamers pissing their pants over this but I don’t remember any of that at the time

tbh they could’ve handled racism much better than they did in the game I feel like they were tryna sidestep it and only mention it so often. Arthur kinda acts oblivious to racism when Tilly says she’s afraid to live in the south and Lenny has to explain racism to him even though he grew up in America in the 1860’s.

I remember people mentioning that as a joke like "Arthur goes around massacring entire towns, but he's actually a good guy coz hes not racist and supports women rights 😌"

    Lol

It's wild that the player character is more honorable in the wild west than in 2013

I forgot this game had a literal robot in it

Whole side mission kinda gave me bully 2 vibes. A lot of the game actually feels like it carried over mechanics and ideas from scrapped bully 2

im usually on the side of « they could have done better » but imo you playing a white guy whose somewhat decent on race but largely oblivious makes sense

wish there was a mission that did a deeper dive into those dynamics but i did appreciate those smaller convos

A Red Dead Redemption Remaster is on the table but depends on the sales success of the GTA remasters.

in a perfect world there would be an RDR2 spinoff game about the natives, like the same engine and gameplay but you're a native indian exploring the grand canyon under the moonlight or something

For it being late 19th century you can never be too woke

Rockstar could've made em worse but that would hurt the game reception

I ain't like that part tbh

Too much crammed in even after Guarma

A game centered around them would be dope, but just their inclusion in the game felt too much for me

I love this game tho the least & most flawed 10/10 game at the same time

The game is pretty 'enhanced' already anyways. S*** still looks and plays better than most new games released today.

My guess would be is they saw people didn't buy into the whole enhanced GTA 5 bs and realized they should just keep focusing on releasing their new game....which is the better thing to do imo

The Guarma chapter was one of the most forced and awful moves they could have came up with, it was like they were worried not enough action smh. The "sniper" whenever Arthur cross into New Austin was really weak too..

    But so many moments
