It’s extremely easy and just involves a simple patch, lots of devs did it in the first few months of next-gen launching. And rockstar had a much bigger team than studios that did it like fromsoftware, naughty dog, Santa Monica studios, etc
The real problem is that it would prevent them from charging us for a remastered version, and they want money

They just need to open the code and change every 30 to a 60
Could do it myself in an afternoon if I had access to the source code

CrimsonArk· editedI just can’t imagine how they’d manage to do a remake unless it’s just a graphical update with some minor tweaks here and there.
Trying to make it on par with RDR2 not only graphically but systematically, which would also probably require them to redo cutscenes and the like, if not outright re-hauling entire missions and change story elements to better align with RDR2, and managing to do that while apparently all hands are on deck for GTAVI seems absurd.
I think people should adjust their expectations and expect a resolution boost, 60 FPS, tweaked lighting, updated character models and probably RT features.
I'm cool with that unless they're pricing it at $60, or even worse, $70.
I expect a remake at that price point, but knowing Rockstar they'll do the bare minimum and ask for the maximum.

and playing rdr2 on pc with graphics mods runs beautifully above 60 around 80fps everything maxed so pretty sure ps5 and seriesx can do it fine

i've got that photorealistic reshade installed and whyem's visuals alongside wickedhorseman's upscaled texures
game looks gorgeous and the performance isn't even hit dramatically
