White braids and pillow chair was def the big standout to me. I agree this is above most of it, and Tippa too. I can’t wait to hear the full thing It feels like John has really settled back into guitar their chemistry is amazing

Ngl I was so hyped for John’s return but that last album did little to nothing for me I feel like I enjoyed the last two albums with Klinghoffer more

it fell off for me over time for sure, just super odd sequencing of songs and definitely dragged. I'm f***ing with the new art style on this rollout and going off Eddie and Tippa they definitely not skimping when it comes to a album of songs they threw to the side

I think The Getaway flows so much better, if Detroit and This Ticonderoga got removed, or even better replaced with these b sides that just leaked, album woulda flowed thematically so much better with the psychedelic/spacey tones throughout the project

They’ve been doing this so long idk what to expect “new” from them, but UL felt so familiar. Like too familiar. I was like yup this a chili peppers record lol. I was hoping that with John’s time away it would be more refreshed but it just felt more of the same sound from 15 years ago

I do like Eddie, the cover art is fire and that snippet sounds old school but promising

josh always wanted them to self produce an album and always felt frustration with the producers on both records. still bums me out he never got to see that happen

Considering all the amazing creative and super out there songs that got thrown to the side with I’m Beside You just so I’m With You could sound more boomer/casual listener friendly (which rubin was confirmed to have a large part influencing), then yeah I really would have liked to seen them go all out

It upset me that songs like Magpies of Fire, Never is a Long Time and The Sunset Sleeps didn't make I'm With You. They had a lively energy that made them special.
