  • One of his biggest insecurities has always been politics, or talking about social issues, racial issues, “conscious” issues etc.

I don’t mind that he’s not trying to put that in his music, but it’s very sad to see him attack other artists who do use their platform for that. He always calling them “corny” or “overrated” or for example with Kendrick “I would have all of your fans if I stayed on some conscious s***

Bro just doesn’t see the harm he is doing to our culture and communities by spreading those messages.

It’s very easy for him to do this because, let’s keep it a bean, he has never had to struggle through any one of those issues

idk about all that but he wasn’t wrong about the song

I'm more perplexed why people are taking this remotely serious

Drake’s position on these things has a lot to do with the discourse around music with social commentary changing imo

Rappers often take things that could be considered weak points of theirs and make them seem corny, its not just unique to Drake tbh

that and him playing into the mob boss image is probably some insecurity from having to deal with his own struggles with “blackness” or at least how he was perceived in the hip hop community. All the light skin nigga jokes and being on degrassi etc. doubt he does it consciously tho

  • I know everyone is enjoying the circus but I want to clarify this image in question. This was not from a clothing brand shoot for my music career. This picture is from 2007, a time in my life where I was an actor and I was working on a project that was about young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and type cast. The photos represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment. Me and my best Friend at the time Mazin Elsadig who is also an Actor from Sudan were attempting to use our voice to bring awareness to the issues we dealt with all the time as black actors at auditions. This was to highlight and raise our frustrations with not always getting a fair chance in the industry, and to make a point that the struggle for black actors had not changed much.

It’s not real, actually watch the clip it was a joke he came up with in the moment

I get you probably don’t like him but if u actually watch the clip it’s obviously a light joke and there was never a Drake diss
