Was the release of the track. pointless and/or tone deaf?

What about the subsequent twitter posts? Should he have explained himself?

    Yes or No?

he's a rapper who had a rapper sub him on Twitter and it got a lot of attention

nothing wrong with responding and responding on wax

  • there were more important things that guy couldve rapped about

there was genuinely nothing constructive that came out of this and all their issues could’ve been flattened out in one conversation

How could it be pointless? He’s speaking his truth like we all have the right too.

  • Jun 17, 2020

    Yes. On brand with Cole.

  • Jun 17, 2020

Its fire thats all that mattere

  • Jun 17, 2020

Beyond unnecessary, he essentially spent studio time money, hired a mixer and engineer to let everyone know that we should listen to NONAME instead of him.

    And we should honestly.

  • It was all good until he back tracked. The track itself was lack luster tho.

what was the point of the song? “I like your message but i have issues with your tone, also i don’t know much so don’t listen from me?” Considering the times we’re in people should know better than to microfocus on the semantics surrounding the message rather than the message itself. Especially considering the fact that he knows Noname, he could’ve easily been educated on this topic rather than opening up a load of BS

He had something to say, so he said it.

Looking at it now, it probably would've been in everyone's best interest if he kept it to himself though. I somewhat agree with some of his main ideas but in conveying those ideas he made himself look kind of dumb to a lot of people.

Also I don't think it was smart to drop a song responding to a person who said a thing before dropping a song where he actually talked about what's going on right now in the world, which is what people want to hear from him

you know s*** all f***ed up when i'm on Cole's side

  • Jun 17, 2020

    It was his honesty

For me the lyrics came off as something that he really should have talked about directly with Noname. It's causing more in-fighting for people who are striving for a common goal as well, distracting from the movement going on right now.

  • I think it was an honest offering from a human being.

I think it was very untimely and misguided, even dangerously so.

I think his doubling down in tweets this morning was wildly unnecessary, especially saying the subject on the song can be left to interpretation and then mentioning Noname in the same string of tweets???

I think all these discussions can be had in the previous threads made regarding the song and its subject matter lol

Both. Wrong timing and the track should have never been made in the first place.

Nah i appreciate that he made a song about it. Should happen more often. Rappers speaking from their soul
