I have the same complaint with american rap too tbf. My theory is beef creates urgency/competition and most of the best rap and reggaeton projects ever were made in the middle of big beefs. Like El Abayarde or Barrio Fino or The Last Don etc... all made in the middle of big beefs, having to prove that they are better(or sold more) than whoever they were beefing with. Without that feeling of competition you just get 8 dudes buying the same Bugatti, Anuel copying BB and buying a basketball team in PR, same producers/sounds etc.. But thats just me, old man on the lawn s***
