The lasting effects of COVID have been different than 9/11. Post 9/11 for a few years there was this major sense of unity in our country, overly patriotic, somewhat of a sense of optimism that we were "gonna get the bad guys". Rampant Islamophobia as well (which was f***ed).
COVID is different in the way that socially were more divided than ever, and things just seem to be getting worse and worse by the year. People being stuck inside for about 2 years really made them crazy and mad. The future is looking bleak at the moment.
