black people can’t make camp unless it’s as obvious as black dynamite (not hating that amazing movie)
real s*** lmao
racism a f***in b****
You like Kanye West?
I thought his older work was a bit derivative, but YEEZUS is when I feel he really came into his own. Critics have called the record “harsh and abrasive”, but personally, I think the songs have real edge to them that makes the softer parts really sing. Take Black Skinhead, a song SO catchy that you’ll find yourself questioning what it really is that makes a pop record.
HEY PAUL
Title was so hard, but so is Yeezus
Everything about that album is literally GOAT levels
It wasn't?
It was. The good music insider revealed 2 titles : thank God for d**** and this one. Tgfd was confirmed legit by merch leak by Joe Perez. This is likely true too.

The joke was that it is Black American Psycho
actually would have probably helped the albums critical reception.
The key to yeezus is the semi-ironic semi-comedic tone. Outrageous offensive bold bars over offensively hard beats. Yes "put my fist in her like the civil rights sign" and using "free at last" to talk about p**** is wild but it's wild intentionally.
American psycho seems like some crazy ass murder flick at first look but it's really a self-aware comedy, and seeing it as such is key to appreciating it. Maybe naming the album "Black American Psycho" would have meant people picked up on the self-aware ironic tone of Yeezus faster instead of being stupid and going "did you hear he said I am a God wow this f***ing guy"
amazing post and great a***ysis
can’t believe this gets lost on the general public

preesh lol
yeah it bothers me a lot when ppl think yeezus is s*** because they miss the point
actually insane to me that ye made some s*** like yeezus that was amazing sonically and so well done conceptually w the self-awareness and s***, he knew exactly what he was doing
comparatively Donda is unbelievably weak and ever since the rant on the tlop tour Ye has lost so much of his wisdom and self-awareness. I know they put him in some weird mental facility on dubious grounds and probably had him d***ged tf up, maybe that's what caused it. Whatever it is, s***s changed.
yeah exactly lol
yeezus to this day gets reactions like "oh but the bars are so offensively bad" like being outrageous isn't the point. The tone flew right over everyone's heads. When everyone was making fun of the Bound 2 video like "oh my god look how campy it is wow" also completely missed the point, like yes, its on purpose lmao
Yeezus was so misunderstood
"Thank God For D****" was a hard title
This would’ve meant
Thank God for D**** and Jesus is King would’ve been in the same man’s discography
