Trying to downplay this is stupid

A lot of rappers have albums with hits and they're not on the charts for hundreds of weeks

Drake has timeless hits. It’s what he does best. This tweet will have people thinking that we’re playing Views from front to back. That’s just not the case.

The Kid Laroi has a triple platinum album because of 1 songs streams. No one knows what that album is called.

Does the same logic apply to Eminem?

They’re charting because people play the hits from these albums. It’s an illusion. Nobody is playing Scorpion from front to back.

Streaming allows 2 or 3 songs to carry an album to the charts.

first it was no one is gonna listen in the long run, its pop music has no longevity, he doesnt represent the culture, chasing first week numbers

now its ohh people are only streaming the "hits", meanwhile a song like Do Not Disturb gets 250,000 streams a day just on spotify, meanwhile a purposefully made "hit" like Never Recover with prime Gunna and Baby on it and released a year later is only getting 150,000 streams a day on spotify

like Do Not Disturb gets the same streams every day as P**** & Millions which was released 2 years ago and got Trav on it

like Practice (never even charted on the hot 100) off Take Care is getting the SAME streams as Rich Flex (literally #1 on hot 100 2 years ago)

get outta here with all the yapping

Does the same logic apply to Eminem?

well Em only has 1 album charting on the bb200 and its his greatest hits album

not a single one of his 2010's albums is charting

so no the same logic does not apply to him at all

  • Jan 30, 2024

    No one said that

  • A thread made to validate drake fans by pointing at charts? Shocking

i think when a greatest hits album comes out it kills the chart progress of any of the albums that they were released on, because the streams will be associated with the newer entry

same thing happened to Post Malone a while back. Stoney and BB&B all disappeared from the top 200. it’s a bad move

ya you're correct on that which is why mmlp and ES is not charting and they def would if not for curtain call, thats why i mentioned his 2010 albums not being there because Curtain Call doesn't include any of his music post 2005 which is when it was released

so Relapse, MMLP2, Recovery which were all massive albums between 2008-2012, and whatever albums hes been releasing on and off between 2012-2022 which hes done quite a few, not a single one charting

Recovery not charting is wild because it has Not Afraid, Love the Way you Lie, Space Bound, etc. all have hundreds of millions of views some even over a billion on youtube, and still not enough on-demand streams to get into the bb200

it aint anything to take away from Em, just shows that having massive hits on an album doesnt translate perfectly to charting a decade later, there needs to be something there for those millions of listeners to choose to listen to your old ass songs over the thousands of new songs released every week by an infinite amount of artists, and also listen to those old ass songs on a consistent week-to-week basiss to keep it charting and not some 1 time listen to reminisce

Eminem is the most streamed rapper on Youtube monthly, has 72 million Spotify monthly listeners with no new album out since 4 years ago, and is still selling plenty of records.

I remember when that gay Filipino Swiftie said that TPAB and Frank Ocean were trash because they didn't sell as much as Taylor's album 1989.

Black Twitter came for his ass and he ended up deleting the tweet lol.
