I don't believe in it. That's the reasoning the rich usually give for not wanting to pay more taxes. Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa right? And as far as i know they have fixed taxation, but could be wrong. The reasoning richer people usually give for not being in favor of progressive taxation is the corrupt government. I'd say it's cause they're not wanting to spend more on taxes at all, even if the government wasn't corrupt as s***. But i do get the sentiment of 'where does my money even go to' and 'i'm not paying s*** if it goes to all types of bs'

I can't speak on rich people but I know that in some areas nobody pays taxes and nothing happens. It's just that some of these aspects aren't enforced

I give up speaking about China really, for better or for worse, and I certainly don't like their governing ideology at all, they've defied prediction and convention. Only thing to do really is to watch and see what happens and learn from it, whether that's a positive or negative lesson

It's clear countries receiving Chinese aid, investment aren't making too much negative noise about it. Whatever happens it seems the entire world is moving in a more state interventionist direction regardless. Not saying that's a bad thing either. Its the state that constructs the economy not vice versa
