Rian Johnson’s in his pocket with these films
Not sure if I like this more than the first but it’s definitely as goo. Janelle Monae shined in the ensemble
everyone raves about Janelle in this one
i havent seen the film - is it noticeably kanye? any shots that show it clearly?
It’s pretty obvious during the last 30 minutes of the film

Someone screamed it’s f***ing Kanye at my theater so pretty noticeable at some parts
Need another one after watching this one the first one to me was great at probably a bit better than this one but loved the story in this one more

Loved Knives Out. Even though I read an article about the whole Android thing which made me have an idea of what the ending would be when I watched it it still managed to surprise me. That’s some good writing.
Watching Glass Onion tonight :D
I think I did like this a little more than the first. Better comedy and better mystery to me. I also like that the characters had more variety than the first. And the overall “point” against the characters was more timely and nuanced than the last family imo
Idk to me this really felt hella different than the first Knives Out. I mean the first Knives out is pretty goofy sometimes but this new one takes it to a whole nother level with the silly s***. Also, what happen to the film grain look? I know it’s a new location, new story, new characters, new vibe but this new movie feels cheaper (but also somehow more expensive)
Yeah it feels like the sets and locations are much more expensive but at the same time it has a bit of a made-for-streaming feel to the cinematography, despite it being Rian's usual DP.
i cannot wrap my head around the fact that knives out made $300 million dollars just 3 years ago, and the anticipated sequel is being relegated to a limited theater release and then the instant life and death that comes from being a streaming exclusive
Must be in select theaters cause it ain't playing no where near me.
Damn that’s wild, it’s playing in pretty much every theater here in SoCal

I think it’ll be a streaming hit tbh, ppl will be interested in first post bond Daniel Craig I feel like
Benoit is the next iconic film character, this movie solidified it
That scene where he solves the dinner murder mystery game before it’s even started is one of my fav theatre experiences of the year so much fun

They only released it in 600 theaters
