While Kanye’s verse stinks, if it wasn’t for Ye’s vision the song wouldn’t have been what it was to be quite honest.

The one thing Kanye’s still great at is leading a production team to create epic music. A rich the kid only version of Carnival would be forgettable no matter how good his verse is

it’s not a sporting chant, it’s a Mo Bamba interpolation

Is it really an interpolation? Thought it was just similar

Kanye’s strength is not writing hooks, his strength is orchestrating numerous pieces to fit together and become commercial

    Jumpin Like Jordan - lol

Nobody is denying Rich wrote it. But saying that Rich is the REASON it went #1 BECAUSE he wrote it is simply untrue.

right, so why did none of the other songs with the Hooligans blow up?

odeeeeee. But that’s like 80% of his music these days. The production is still epic but then he speaks and it falls apart

youtube shows that most people just skip directly to Carti’s verse

crazy to think, but most people under the age of 30 don’t like Kanye, they only clicked play because they saw Carti’s name on the song

(the other bump is the guitar, but the sharp decline shows they skip the Kanye verse right after )

@Teejayx6 people literally only play the Carti part & youtube shows the receipts

    1. Because they sucked

    2. Because they were a poor attempt at redoing Carnival

    3. Because Carti was not on them

honestly one of his worst verses ever

idk how he heard this stadium anthem and said i need to spit some nazi bars on this

  • Song went #1 mostly of the Carti hype and Ye gave it a bit of extra stimulus to get there

It’s a very similar melody but it is not an interpolation.

  • He’s right, heard a lot of people say at the time that they were done with Kanye until he got RTK on a track and said they just had to check it out

Yes.. and it sounds like something that would be done at a sporting event.

Ask yourself, did you have to take the opportunity to to flex your music knowledge when it was irrelevant to the point being made?
