Didn’t like the ending but it was a good movie

Damson Idris stock about to explode after that movie with Brad Pitt from Top Gun director. Bro just looks like a star

    Nahh Damson is THAT NIGGA

Super charismatic. I think they will. Majority of ppl seem to love it all the way through. The character work and acting is great.

Gave this a watch, and yeah, Glen Powell is a star. Bro showed some mad range in this. I did NOT like the third act or the ending.

For a "Netflix" film, the script was refreshingly good. I just think they bungled the landing.

Also when they said “let’s go question her rn and we’ll have you wear a wire” I f\*\*\*ing knew he was gonna type up on his phone about what she should say…..But imagine how much more interesting the scene would’ve been if they told him “Ron…leave your phone here”…….now the stakes are higher

That would have been so much more intense tbh. I don't think it would pan out all the way given the breezy vibe that Linklater was going for here, but leaving the phone behind would've amped up the stakes for sure

Some people online questioning the characters and love story missing the fact that its not completely a true story.

The movie was a commentary on hit man movies even had the whole monologue about the fantasy of hit men in pop culture. Their relationship plays into the hit man movie trope of femme fatale or Bond girls who fall in love with the dangerous guy in those movies

    Nah?

You’d think with all the setup of all the ppl being arrested and their mugshots appearing with the funny transition they’d end it with them two being arrested and doing the same s\*\*\* with their mugshot

One thing I love about Linklater films is they’re either the most “pretentious” movies you’ve ever seen, or the least

I know y’all think Glen Powell killed it but, imagine John Hamm in this role instead…

The chick in this makes the hottest splash in a film since Margot Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street, and it surpasses that

    Best performance here, too

I can’t picture Jon Hamm being a dweeb without it coming off as unintentionally goofy.

My only problem with this is that I never really felt like Gary was in over his head. He sort of felt like Ron from the start. So when the students are like, “when did he get hot?” I’m like... he always was. It’s like putting the hot chick in glasses. He just dressed like a dork, but the transformation felt slight. Maybe that was the point, I dunno.

I think “hot” was more so his new confidence/assertiveness rather than actual looks

That would've been a good full circle moment, better than the Hallmark film final scene we got lol. Richard took it to a weird place with the muddled messaging.
