its kinda developed a cult following despite the massive critic downpour on it. Its also very very different from his usual style, it feels a lot more straight forward in its image composition but yeah I feel there is always something new I think about after watching the film. Its definitely one of his least accessible films because it really is mostly just people talking to one another but how Ridley handles McCarthy's script is pretty funny in a really twisted and f***ed up way.

yeah I always figured it was a combination of people just not quite getting what they expected from a Cormac McCarthy script (probably caused an even more extreme distaste since he was coming off of The Road and No Country so his film aesthetic kind of started getting defined in that expectation) or Scott's direction

Its just a movie you have to go into with an open mind because if you saw that trailer or expected ridley scott to do what he normally does, you may find the actual film quite boring when I think it is just doing something very different but no less worthy of artistic merit.

Word maybe Cormac is better suited writing Novels instead. Ima check the film here soon tho. I’m curious now to see how it is.
