These more local street rappers don't make as much as they portray. Enough that they could get out somewhere they'd be unbothered, but they don't wanna leave family and friends behind.
There's also the ignorance, pride, and general dumb attitudes hold folks back and enough of them be addicted to that lifestyle too

Some people just love their environment…regardless if it’s a bad situation. Idk if he ever thought people would catch up to him or maybe he accepted that one day it would happen and live how he wanted while he was here. No real way to tell.
