I'll confess that I'm not actually a big fan of his movies for the most part, I think his film criticism and theories are much more compelling and he's one of the most interesting philosophers of the medium, but Pierrot le Fou is an absolute banger and I can't recommend it enough

CONTEMPT
One of my favorite movies.
Mysterious. With a score that moves me.
It’s like a subversion of a melodrama or something, both making fun of itself, and completely heartfelt, in the same breath.

I don't wanna risk getting banned but I'll say that it's very easy to find his book Godard on Godard by looking on Google, his most interesting work is in his video essay series Histoires du Cinema, which may or may not be found on the fivepoisonskid Twitter account
His ideas about the importance of images and how the constructed images of cinema influence the real world are very very interesting, his commentary on the impossibility of representing the Holocaust on film was a big influence on how I think about visual media, it comes up in Histoires as well as any time he talks about Schindler's List, this interview is a great primer for his specific manner of thinking
