Don’t engineers do the math and architect mostly design?

I feel like they would be working alongside with each other so that engineer can make sure building can withstand natural forces?

Yeah and if I recall he did civil engineering undergrad and architecture for grad, inspirational stuff fr

  • virgil inspired me so much man. discovering him and the whole donda team in 2013 changed my life. made me realize and appreciate the value of art and creativity. they were the reason i studied design in college. forever grateful.

Can’t even lie, the past year and a half, I was curious and critical of some of the designs and redundancy…..and so I’ve been sitting here and feeling like a jackass today. Not because the opinion was wrong or right, but more so because there’s a lot of things Virgil did that were really amazing and really shifted how I thought luxury fashion could be. Even off white, he Def incorporated his background as an engineer into that. I used to think that was so clever. But damn lost track of the good by being disinfatuated by what I disliked the past couple of years. Damn, you never know what the next man is going through. You start to think about certain virgil jokes that occurred past couple of years, and whether they were warranted or not, I admire how mentally strong Virgil was to say you know what let the jokes be what they are, even though he could’ve easily guilt tripped everyone to shut up given the circumstances he was under.

Celebrity deaths and tragedies in the social media age is really something new and strange. I feel like this personally is a teachable moment for me. Like public figures and icons are open for critique but if there’s really something they added to your life, and Virgil Def did that, why not lead with that because that far outweighs whatever you may or may not have been feeling from his output.

    Well said.

Yeah man as a civil engineer and minor in architecture you have it pretty much right. Engineers are party poopers essentially to the dreamer architects. Hahaha, but that’s what makes virgils story really cool to me. He meshed both worlds. A lot of his designs remind me of construction plans.

i know this might be too soon, but i feel like if there’s one person to take up virgil’s place at LV, it would be kanye. out of respect for virgil’s vision and legacy, it just feels right
