ROTJ is not great at all but the story between luke and darth vader alone makes it far better than PM and AOTC

I disagree. The political aspect & entire setting of 1 & 2 are much better. I used to agree really but just did a rewatch a couple weeks ago of 1-8 & was surprised by how much 6 fell off just over halfway through.

Granted the Luke Vader stuff is obviously great, but really dragged down by other nonsense.

they’re not better than ROTJ,

but they provide a lot of context & explain so much about the world in OT, which makes them so much more valuable to the franchise than the visually impressive bullshit joke of a story we got in this ST

And yea the general setting & story progression is pretty well done really. I used to think 2 was atrocious because of Anakin Padme scenes but upon rewatching recently it’s not nearly that awful due to Obi’s interesting subplot with the clones balancing out those scenes (which aren’t even that prevalent)
