Anakin with mans at beginning of 3 is too, too. Yoda was Palp. Movie easily had 5 tops.

It's pretty entertaining from a "turn your brain off" perspective.. Visually stunning too. I thought the relationship between Ray and emo guy ended okay.

Otherwise everything else is lame. They reused carry fishers old footage and wrote around her lines. They retcon a million things. A lot of the characters like Poe are still unsatisfying and you don't give a f*** about them. They completely wrote the asian girl out of the movie but honestly who gives a f***. A lot of pointless and "WTF" moments like riding attack horses on the side of a spaceship when they could have accomplished the same thing they were trying to do from mid-air. And there are a million f***ing times when you think something drastic is about to happen but instead it is reversed 5 minutes later.

If you like star wars, go for it. Otherwise just pirate it or watch it on disney+ when it comes out on digital

Off second viewing in IMAX:
There are things I liked more and things I liked less. I found myself thinking “how would this moment be better?” A few times. One such being Kylo and Rey at the end. I feel like his death would have been more impactful if instead of them kissing, I think Ben should have thanked her then died. The kiss felt so out of place

They should have at least spaced out the reveal that Chewie was alive a little later

In all, this could have benefitted from and extra 15-20 minutes to flesh some things out

I still really liked it and seeing it with a more casual crowd was fun

Side note: Rey’s theme is the best piece of music to come from the Disney-Star Wars films

I have nothing wrong with yoda having a lightsaber but yoda vs palp is honestly mid is that fight really how you imagined two of the strongest force wielders ever dueling it out?

Now that i think about it george f***ed up not giving yoda any sort of rivalry between palpatine till rots

Why did they do new hope era CGI for both of them?

After Last Jedi I was expecting TRANSFORMERS level bad but it was better than I thought.

It s***s on the Star Wars lore but was at least a fun movie and had some cool visuals and music. Last Jedi shat on Star Wars and wasn’t even fun. That movie really killed any hope for this trilogy

When this gets labeled a "failure" and "anonymous sources" start giving details to variety and the Hollywood reporter

I love the visuals in this, probably the only good thing about the movie lol

TLJ/Rogue One has some of the impressive shots in SW

TLJ and R1 are beautiful even aotc and tpm have their moments

There’s rumors of disney coming up and changing things, reshoots being rushed, massive time crunches, people cut from movie for unknown reasons, useful scenes cut for unknown reasons, etc
