Doesn’t matter if that was the intent, it wasn’t executed that way. The way it was portrayed in the film made it seem like a joke and that Luke didn’t give a f***. I didn’t expect him to be all lovey-dovey with it, but if he truly didn’t care about it, and there was some deep reason for him to just simply toss it, then they should’ve done a better job convincing people of it IMO via facial expression or whatever.People laughed in my theatre when he did it....so there you go.

Yeah sure, audience reaction may not be a good indicator on the emotional intent of a scene, but if the WHOLE F***ING audience is dying of laughter, that just tells me that the way it was portrayed on screen was done really poorly, especially if it was supposed to be serious.
