there were immortal Sith Lords in the EU that would kill whole planets of people to keep themselves alive (which this movie basically made canon with Palpatine coming back)

force healing is a Jedi power, taking peoples living force to live forever is a sith ability though

they really made 9 movies over 40 years about the life and times of THIS guy
