However, Clipse kinda do operate in a weird space bc they have always had a high test level. So weirdly their music can work in contexts that a lot of âstreetâ rap doesnât. They are super cerebral imo and whether it is hype, streetwear, and luxury culture, especially living in LA, a lot of women I know appreciate/respect the Clipse. That doesnât mean theyâre big fans or anything in mass (some are) but I think they get their flowers. Now a big part of that is Pharrell for sure but heâs like a third member of the Clipse basically. Would they go to a show? Probably not. But I would say Iâve never really felt the Clipse are the meme âscare the hoesâ music. Thatâs just my personal anecdote.
