check this video of “travis bot”. a program made to emulate travis scott. it says a lot of gibberish but these are the first stages.

personally, i don’t see this as proof of how far technology has come but rather how uncreative our artists are now. a robot cannot write a poem. criticize “boom bap”, real rap, and lyrical rappers all you want but the ability to be poetic, spiritual, and creative is valuable and cannot be replicated by AI. fans have lowered the standards and labels will move towards automation. don’t complain in 10 years when rappers are literally soulless swagless machines

AI is currently only capable of pattern recognition which makes stuff liek this possible

All this was is a natural language algorithm being fed travis scott lyrics, recognizing patterns and creating a function, and generating new lyrics from that. Humans did the rest. Cool marketing, but nothing more.

    human cognition allows for synthesis

were so far from reaching that with AI that there's no way we'll get to AI being actually creative for decades to come

read the Book of Why by Judea pearl if you're more interested

    STUFF

    Outdated rhetoric.

Warner signed an algorithm last year.

Warner signing an algorithm doesn't mean that algorithm is actually creative

All these things do is make a function for creating a song based on whats out right now. thats not creativity thats statistics

There are algorithms for making paintings too but they will never be able to create something new and impactful on the level of our greatest artists because they don't do anything new, they simply recognize patterns
