I’m assuming you didn’t pay the 5 bands for that Roc interview?
Lmao is that how much he charging
The Elephant Man was dehumanized. People viewed him as an animal and assumed he had no kind of humanity—it might be that Roc is equating his objectification by the music industry, systematic oppression at large, etc. to the way the Elephant Man’s humanity was denied.
Roc mentions on the album how the industry and his other life experiences made him feel heartless and cold. That’s my view at least
I like this theory. Also, back in the day it was rumored that Michael Jackson owned the elephant man's skeleton. When Roc says, "I still own the Elephant Man's Bones" on The Eye Of Whorus, I took it as just bragging about being wealthy enough to afford an eccentric luxury as well as a nod to MJ. I remember reading an interview with him a few years back where he placed Off The Wall among his favorite albums. Regardless of the meaning behind the title, it's a cool f***ing name for an album.

great theory but I'm leaning more towards the title as a symbol of excess/wealth ala MJ

I think this is the most likely take by far, assuming there's any meaning to it. Like the implied story of how Roc got them from the London Hospital is a true pimp adventure

Knowing Roc it could easily be that too lmao
I know everyone loves Reasonable Doubt but I think this is the best thing Roc produced for another artist

Idk personally
I love bronze (his first album is so f***ing good) and I found this kinda flat
Rubber hand grip
the Dj scratches sound great.
Pump with the rubber hand grip.
i wanted more of those
great album but i wish roc was higher energy on more tracks
his sleepy flow definitely gets old after a bit lol could have used more energy or one or two more features to bring a different energy and shake it up a bit
Can’t get the JJ Flash beat out my head
I have this thought multiple times a day about nearly every song on here
Cam'ron used to be my favorite rapper when I was in middle / high school but he peaked around my freshman year in 2004. What Cam used to do on the mic, Roc elevates that 10-fold and he's on a 12-year tear.
Salute the big homie Marci
Everyone went crazy on this
JJ Flash beat
Elephant Man's Bones sample
What a great year for hip hop

Wasn't too familiar with Bronze before this project as his discog is pretty spread out and inconsistent. But I never found Roc's production flat ever. Even with my least favorite projects of his.
Bronze's bars + Roc = Flames

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’ll give it another listen too.
If you haven’t already, please do check out the great migration. It really is a classic
