like the beats are just too predictable. if you are gonna do more conventional stuff it has to be killer production but it wasn’t. elephant man bones isn’t bad but i wouldn’t rank it top 5 marci whatsoever

EMB is definitely top 5 Roc. We’re talking about “safe” beats like Roc doesn’t produce the same thing again and again and like Al makes weird production.

It doesn’t need to be safe or weird, they both make great production and Al will deliver as usual

emb doesn’t touch rr1+2, marcielago, marcberg, reloaded or behold a dark horse. roc always has something interesting to me like tom chambers or congo beats. alc hasn’t been making interesting beats since like 2018 ibr.

i shudder whenever i see alc involvement in an album now. elephant man bones isn’t even as good as marcielago his production is too safe and rigid compared to something like tom chambers
