And he self produces most of his stuff. But he'll never get the accolades he deserves.

True, but it’s pretty established that he’s an underground legend. Most underground rappers recognize his influence and pioneering of the current scene

I agree he will genuinely go down as one of the most slept on legends ever. It’s a shame

Westside Gunn took the same formula and has become much more of a public figure then Roc.

I completely agree. It should be said that Griselda’s music is much easier for a casual rap fan to get into, which has contributed a ton. Roc’s is more niche/low-key Imo.

The fashion, the visuals and the consistency.

Plus all the wrestling interludes and the way it influences the music.

Gunn.put a pretty compelling package together even tho Roc is 10x the MC he is.

I feel you. But in their music and in person they have like the same fashion sensibilities. Both rap about and wear a ton of designer s***. And Roc is prolly as consistent as WS album-wise. And I feel like their visuals aren’t even super different.. but I guess GXFR has a bigger industry push, for obvious reasons

For me I think the difference is that Roc hasn’t tried so hard to push his brand out there as much as Gunn, who is obviously trying hard your get Griselda into the spotlight, whereas Roc is just low key all the way

Roc makes better music for sure but I think Gunn just knows how to almost sell his music and brand better. I can't quite explain it but Gunn's angle finds this weird sweet spot between music and streetwear.

Word. While he is a really good rapper, his albums are just so well-put together and easy to listen to. They’re like paintings, and each song is a different color/texture
