Oh yeah as a professional musician these are guys the worst (and usually lowkey racist). They don't understand the flow of music history + culture + economics and why, for example, a kid today would prefer to use a laptop wit good 808 samples to make music as opposed to an electric guitar (it is a heavier sound that is wayy cheaper to produce. I still love guitars don't @ me) unfortunately they also happen to be like 80% of music conservatory professors. So yeah, that is why you never hear about anyone graduating Berklee/Julliard and doing anything TRULY innovative. I try to explain to guys like this that both Zeppelin and Kanye are equally important in the grand scheme of music and they just usually guffaw and proclaim their superiority because they "play a real instrument" and "make real music" To hell with em!
