GTA v more than any other gta to me felt like go to this location and kill many people . Without as well structured mission design of why. There was a bit more narrative conceit to previous games . Primarily gangs in previous gangs or criminals vs V killing Feds to rob banks which to me robbing banks actually got boring ( in single player ) in online it looks like they diversified it and found fun over the top ways to do it . In iv three leaf clover felt fun because it was one of a kind . In V that chase that high repeated times . With less missions that let the player decide how they will complete if

Replaying gta 5 for the first time in ages and I think a lot (but not all) of the criticisms itt fall flat

The only critique that feels valid about the game (if we're excluding GTA Online which is a different convo altogether) is how it has weak villains.

The thing about playing GTA Online after all this time is seeing so much content that came out in increments but you get go choose what you wanna play

Man I still laugh when I think of the leap from GTA 3 to San Andreas. It's crazy how much they added all in the span of 4 years. VI definitely looks to have more varied environments than V and I’m sure all the small towns are going to be far more fleshed out than in any previous title.

Niko has more nuance/depth, that's what makes him more likable. You know his background with the war and see how he expresses guilt about it. You see how the only woman bro been dating turns out to be an undercover agent. Either his cousin or cousin's wife dies at the end

CJ story of returning home after his mother's death and dealing with family/friends who feel like he abandoned them also a lot more appealing to me than psychopath bank robber who got betrayed on a job and keeps yelling profanities whenever he's on screen
