I’ll never understand niggas complaining about the cost of s*** that is not essential to life.
We not talking about gas prices, food, rent, etc. We talking about video games. If you can’t afford a $100 video game then you should not be worried about buying video games.
I don't really care about the prices of video games. Like you said, it's a luxury and you don't need to buy games at launch
My main concern with what he posted is how easily gamers fold and how consumer purchases don't align with what we see online. Because I thought gamers realised that FIFA/2K drops each year with minor changes and the predatory practices in their online modes. I thought gamers hate CoD now because of similar reasons. I thought gamers hated that Rockstar aren't doing discs and locked content behind an ultimate edition
Yet all of these games are the most preordered on PS5. And not even their basic versions, the most expensive versions with content locked behind an additional paywall, which I thought gamers despised. So when gamers talk about all this outrage and they hate that PS6 won't have a disc drive...
What difference it make if I buy it now VS in November?
Well the pre-order bonus stuff which can be bought later on and been able to pre-load it 1 week before it's out.

The corporations know they can get away with it all because after the first week of heat, everyone adapts to the new normal.

What makes you say 4 months is a long time in today's age? Feels like most games have extended marketing campaigns, they not showing off their games just 1 month before launch. We got Fable gameplay 8 months before launch, we have God of War Laufey gameplay, how much Phantom Blade Zero gameplay do we have and that's dropping less than a month before GTA
What Rockstar is doing right now is definitely not the norm

Because those games have to prove themselves.
People are like "we need to see the gameplay to make sure the game is worth it!" while already having a copy purchased.
This game has already sold more than most games will in a life time just in preorders.
I dont think they will actually wait until october, but they dont have to work as much. Once the game is out, it's forever an evergreen title.

I've been saying the same thing in here, Rockstar don't have to market. Only thing I disagree with is 4 months being a long time for marketing in modern gaming
Surprised Rockstar seem to actually be going this route. Good for them though, smart decision to make even more money if they save on marketing

We live in fast food era of nothing lasting more than a week, and everybody already knows what the f*** to expect with gta…they can wait lol yall acting like they aren’t going to have a whole campaign for this games post release schedule either. Maybe they ramp up marketing when they want to ensure that 2bil is secured.

How many copies have been preordered? Any info on that?
Imagine if the preorder period was all the marketing they’ve got for the game until released.
To be fair, they don’t need to do anything at this point, s*** is locked.
How many copies have been preordered? Any info on that?
I’m gonna guess a lot.
Torture OP til we get gameplay.
I think saying " marketing starts this summer" then just announcing preorder pricing and a few screenshots is insane

Rollout a mess but I am just glad I opted on getting a pc and waiting vs rushing to get a console for this

Well the latest rumors do say between 32-51 million copies pre-ordered.

Is there any way to even calculate that?

Dunno fam... But whatever the real number is so don't I imagine it been lower than 20 million though.

They can release a broken GTA 5.5 and players won't complain and act like it's the greatest game ever... Even with bugs and glitches.
The preorder numbers have already shown that there are too many idiots that buy fifa, NBA 2k NHL, Madden and cod every year. Quality isn't a priority anymore they know it.
