If a mission where you have to drive a long distance manage gas and car health sure. Depends how it is executed. Its not like you will likely have to get out of the car and decide unleaded or premium. Will affect how far you can drive in a chase. maybe it will be used well only time will tell truly.
I kinda doubt it will be much of a problem or that gas will run out super fast. In mafia you rarely have to fill up the tank and it's story chapters, so it was even less important because you start with a fresh tank each chapter
But in theory having to bail out a car cuz Im in a cop chase gas on E and hauling it on foot or desperately trying to highjack a whip is fun
