Although I understand that this one should be a step up. But they are juggling an ocean of additional mechanics that they weren't in RDR2

Mendez (the cop that raided the place in the begining) i can already tell is going to be an intense disgusting human being, regardless if he’s on the “good” side of the law
Lucia having a pic with her sister on the fridge basically confirms what i thought that her sister gonna be in the game too (she’s in trailer 2)
you can see Jason touch the button to drop the top on the convertible
Brian is gonna be such a dope father figure to Jason, that speech on the terrace about getting out of the game was really well written

rustcohlestan2i think it will be their greatest story they’ve ever written. with how everything is settling up it has to be
they've always been "mature" satirical writers, but i think rdr 2 was that first step in stepping away from pure American satire, and into just great American stories.
from what I'm seeing, satire is still a big part of the story they're trying to tell, but it doesn't feel like it's the core. this isn't to say rockstar hasn't always been equally character driven.
it just really feels like they're trying to make a statement, and want to prove to the world that their video games, and video games as a whole are a legitimate medium for great modern storytelling.
I really hope and pray that this is their best story and the little I'm seeing with how Lucia and Jason's relationship is portrayed, it seems like they're gonna reach new heights (hopefully)

this is a really great way to put it
rdr2 can afford to be deeper in some of its mechanics just by the nature of its pace. this is a much faster paced game, trying to have the depth of an ocean.
