gta vi seems like it wants to set itself as something else entirely, it still will wear its cinematic influences on its sleeves, but its obviously going for soemthing i think only a game can accomplish and im here for it

gta v had a whole lineage of movies its going for with its trouble in paradise setting.

the trailer imo shows they care about the narrative theyre tryna make. but given their public comments about keeping the rockstar authenticity in a pc climate will be difficult for writers. i imagine that theyre gonna be less keen on building great american crime epic and more about building the ultimate america in decay simulation.

theyre excited to have a female protagonist but i think even more excited about the world they created, hence the social media focus, party vibe, etc.

imagine getting citizen apps alert that told u location of weirdo crimes, and instead of just following gps route, u actually have to have an understanding of the map and its locations to know wheres it at

instead of just the icon being on the map, news stories with pictures and street names are what tell u where to go. id love that, even tho i imagine the final game will have both readily available to the player
